The ramp features two launch lanes and two piers, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. No launch permit is required at this location, though parking is extremely limited—plan accordingly or arrive early.

This is an excellent put-in for exploring the Lake Washington Ship Canal, a scenic waterway connecting Lake Washington to Puget Sound. The nearby Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are a popular destination for paddlers and boaters. Given the urban setting and canal traffic, expect encounters with other recreational boats and commercial vessels.
