The Encinal Boat Ramp in Alameda, California provides access to the waters of San Francisco Bay. This public launch site features a paved boat ramp and a sandy beach area, allowing paddlers and small boaters to easily access the bay.
The ramp is located off Central Avenue behind Encinal High School, with a large free parking lot available. Portable restrooms are on-site, though no other amenities are present. The ramp itself is currently in a deteriorated condition, though planned improvements will make it ADA-compliant in the future.
For paddlers, the Encinal launch provides direct access to the open waters of San Francisco Bay, as well as the more sheltered areas near the rock wall breakwater. Boaters can explore the bay, taking in views of Alcatraz Island and the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. Whether you're launching a kayak, canoe, or small powerboat, the Encinal Boat Ramp offers a convenient entry point to enjoy the San Francisco Bay waterfront.
