**Overview & Access**
Located at Allison Point in Wappapello, this day-use area offers a concrete boat ramp providing convenient access to Lake Wappapello, a 45,000-acre impoundment on the St. Francis River in the foothills of Southeast Missouri's Ozark Mountains. The ramp is situated just past Cabin 8 in the Allison Point day-use area and serves as one of three primary launch locations in the park. An activity pass is required to use this facility, and reservations are available through Recreation.gov.
**Facilities & Amenities**
Beyond the boat ramp itself, the Allison Cove Day-Use Area features picnic sites, two picnic shelters with grills suitable for family gatherings, a children's playground, and beach access. A courtesy dock is also available at the nearby old marina launch for added convenience. The area is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, with accessible facilities at the shelter houses.
**Nearby Recreation**
Paddlers and boaters will find additional camping options at Snow Creek Campground (reservable, within 10 miles) and can explore the broader region, including Mingo National Wildlife Refuge—a 21,592-acre refuge with excellent wildlife viewing opportunities just a short distance away.
