About This Access Site
The 20 Mile Bend boat ramp provides convenient access to the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge's perimeter canal system in southern Palm Beach County. This refuge access point is ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a scenic paddle through one of Florida's important wetland ecosystems. The ramp accommodates various watercraft and is located at the southern end of 20 Mile Bend Boat Ramp Road near Loxahatchee. A portable restroom is available in the parking area, and there's also a fishing pier if you want to explore the canal by water or from shore.

**Getting There:** From Interstate 95 Exit 68 or Florida Turnpike Exit 97, head west on Southern Boulevard/FL-80/US-98, then turn left on E Canal Street South. Take an immediate left onto 20 Mile Bend Boat Ramp Road to reach the launch. Note that as of October 2023, Loxahatchee Road is under construction through early 2027—follow detour signs as needed.

The refuge offers more than just boat access, featuring dedicated canoe trails, walking trails, bike paths, and observation towers that make it an excellent destination for wildlife viewing and nature exploration. An entrance fee applies to the refuge; plan accordingly and consult current conditions before your visit.
