The Lake Clementine boat ramp provides access to the North Fork of the American River in the Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA). This is a popular site for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The ramp is located on the north side of the lake, with a primitive path running along the shoreline. An ASRA parking pass is required to park near the ramp.
Motorized vessels are restricted to the lower portion of Lake Clementine - they cannot launch from the upper lake. Dogs are also not allowed within the boundaries of the lower or upper lake areas. The surrounding ASRA park offers over 20 miles of river recreation along the North and South Forks of the American River, with boat-in camping available.
To reach the Lake Clementine boat ramp, take the Foresthill Road exit from Interstate 80 and follow for 3.5 miles, then turn left onto Lake Clementine Road. The ramp is located 2 miles down this road. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of the river's variable flows and plan accordingly for their skill level and craft.
