About This Access Site
Austin Lake Park offers multiple boat ramp options for paddlers and motorboaters accessing the 80-acre stocked lake in Toronto, Jefferson County. The facility features a campground boat ramp (2 lanes on the north side), a hand launch option on the south side near the beach, and a north shore ramp on the western portion of the lake. This makes it convenient for kayakers and canoeists to choose their preferred entry point depending on wind, current, and parking proximity.

The lake enforces a 25 horsepower motor limit, making it an ideal setting for quieter paddling and recreational boating. Beyond water access, Austin Lake Park is a full-service facility with camping, picnic grounds, and beach areas. Paddlers can also rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards on-site if needed. The park sits in scenic Appalachian foothills along the Ohio Valley, providing a pleasant setting for a day trip or longer outdoor adventure. Note that this is primarily a lake paddling destination rather than river paddling on Town Fork itself.
