About This Access Site
Ball Club Lake is a large, pristine lake spanning 7 miles long and 2 miles wide with depths up to 80 feet, located in Cook County near West Cook, Minnesota. The boat ramp is located on the southwest side of the lake and provides public access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. This is an excellent destination for paddlers seeking a quiet, undeveloped lake experience with good fishing opportunities.

The lake supports one backcountry campsite accessible only by boat, operated on a first-come, first-served basis. The site includes a fire grate, latrine, and picnic table. Paddlers should note standard backcountry protocols: hang food packs, fully extinguish fires before leaving, treat or boil drinking water, and wash dishes away from the shore. The surrounding area is relatively remote, so plan accordingly and bring all necessary supplies.

Nearby camping alternatives include East Bearskin Lake Campground (reservable) and Two Island Lake Campground, both within 10 miles, if you prefer developed facilities. The lake's size and depth make it suitable for extended paddling and exploration, though weather conditions on larger lakes should always be monitored.
