Ball Club Lake (South) is a public boat ramp located on the southwest side of 4,335-acre Ball Club Lake near Deer River in Itasca County, Minnesota. This access point provides convenient launch facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore one of the area's larger lakes. The lake reaches depths of 85 feet and offers plenty of open water for paddling and recreational boating.
The ramp is situated in a scenic area of north-central Minnesota with good amenities nearby. Winnie Dam Campground (a USACE reservable facility) is located within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip, and the Mississippi River Headwaters and Winnibigosh Lake offer additional paddling opportunities in the region. The lake's size and depth make it suitable for various water activities, though paddlers should be prepared for open-water conditions typical of larger Minnesota lakes.
