Barker Canyon provides a concrete boat launch on the south end of Banks Lake, a sprawling 60,000-acre reservoir in central Washington. Located near Electric City in Grant County, this WDFW access site is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The launch features wheelchair-accessible facilities, ample parking, and a nearby ADA camping spot, making it a convenient multi-day paddling destination. A DISCOVER PASS or VEHICLE ACCESS PASS is required to access the site.
**Directions & Amenities:** From Grand Coulee, head north and west on Highway 174 for about 10 miles to Barker Canyon Road, then turn left and continue 6.1 miles to the access point. The site is open year-round and ungated, with restrooms and camping available. No horsepower limits apply, so expect mixed boat traffic. Banks Lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for bass, walleye, salmon, and trout, making it popular with both anglers and recreational paddlers. With 500 miles of shoreline to explore, the lake provides ample paddling routes and camping opportunities across its expansive surface.
