About This Access Site
Located on the eastern shore of Bass Lake near Gwinn in Marquette County, this rustic state forest campground provides excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The facility features a concrete boat launch that is handicap accessible, along with a spacious parking lot designed to accommodate both vehicles and boat trailers. A paved path connects the parking area to a fishing dock, and restrooms are available near the launch.

The campground offers 22 campsites for tents and RVs, with some sites providing direct water access, though there is no back-in boat access at the campsites themselves. The facility also includes a large grassy picnic area with tables overlooking the water and a water pump for visitor use. Note that the campground and seasonal roads are not plowed during winter, and the facility operates year-round but with limited winter services.

Bass Lake is a popular recreation destination offering opportunities for paddling, fishing, and swimming. The site provides a good base for exploring the lake and accessing nearby hiking, biking, and horse trails in the state forest.
