**Location & Access:** Bates Bridge is a boat ramp on the Teton River near Driggs in Teton County, Idaho. The ramp is located on the right (east) side of Highway 33 just before the highway crosses the river, making it easy to spot when traveling west toward Rexburg. The site features an enlarged boat ramp, parking area, restrooms, and information kiosks.
**For Paddlers:** This is a popular put-in for kayakers and canoeists exploring the Teton River. Trips from Bates Bridge typically take 2.5 to 3.5 hours to reach the Rainey boat ramp (also called "Big Eddy"). The final half-mile of this paddling section is particularly scenic and offers good opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially moose. When paddling in a group, maintain visual contact with your crew and paddle together to avoid separation.
**General Information:** Bates Bridge is part of Idaho's extensive network of over 300 fishing and boating access sites. The site provides safe and convenient river access with facilities designed to protect the riverbed, wetlands, and surrounding agricultural and natural habitats. This is an excellent starting point for both beginner and intermediate paddlers on the Teton River.
