Bear Lake Campground

Located within the Blackwater River State Forest near Milton, Bear Lake Campground offers a dual-launch concrete boat ramp providing convenient access to 107-acre Bear Lake. The facility is situated about one hour northeast of Pensacola and features a full-service campground with amenities including electric and water hookups, restrooms with showers, and a fishing pier. A $2.00 per vehicle entrance fee is charged by the Florida Forest Service.

This is an excellent access point for kayakers and canoeists, as the lake is designated for electric motors only, creating a quieter paddling environment. The campground also offers canoe rentals for those without their own equipment. Beyond the water, the recreation area includes a scenic 6-mile biking trail that circles the lake, making it ideal for a multi-day visit combining water and land activities.
