Bellview Street

The Bellview Street Boat Ramp provides public access to the Pascagoula River in Moss Point, located 250 feet east of the Bellview Avenue and Devon Street intersection. This is a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats on a major river system that drains nearly 9,400 square miles of southeastern Mississippi and Alabama.

The Pascagoula River is a substantial waterway with an average flow of over 16,000 cubic feet per second and an average current velocity of 3.2 feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for moderate current, especially during high water conditions. The river has a gentle average gradient of 0.5 feet per mile and extends approximately 81 miles downstream to the Gulf of Mexico. The ramp location puts you in the lower tidal section of the river, where conditions are influenced by Gulf tides and transitions into productive estuarine ecosystems.
