About This Access Site
The Bettendorf boat ramp provides access to the Mississippi River, one of North America's major waterways. This is a significant river system with substantial flow (averaging over 685,000 cubic feet per second) and considerable current velocity, making it suitable for experienced paddlers and boaters. The relatively modest average gradient of 0.8 feet per mile means conditions can vary significantly depending on water levels and recent weather, so check current conditions before launching.

When using this access site, remember to move your vehicle or trailer promptly after launching so others can use the facility. Boat cleanup should not occur at the dock or ramp. Personal watercraft (jet skis) have designated docking areas separate from other boats. For additional information or to report issues with the facility, you can contact Scott County Parks at 563-328-3282.

Paddlers should be aware that the Mississippi River at this location is a major shipping and recreation corridor. Consider wearing a PFD at all times and bring plenty of water. If you're planning an extended trip, nearby Island campground and marina (790.6L) offers private facilities including camping, fuel, and other amenities for a fee. This site is part of the Mississippi River Trail system.
