Big Bog State Park's Southern Unit offers convenient drive-in boat access to the Tamarac River near Waskish. The facility features a dedicated boat ramp and multiple docks located within the adjacent campground, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This makes it an excellent launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the river.

The access site is integrated with a full-service campground (31 total sites with electric options), complete with shower and restroom facilities, fish cleaning house, and a swimming beach. The park is also known as home to the largest peat bog in the contiguous U.S., accessible via a scenic mile-long boardwalk.
