Black Canyon West is a developed boat ramp facility located northeast of Emmett in Gem County, Idaho, on Black Canyon Reservoir. The site features a concrete boat ramp, gravel parking area, restrooms, picnic tables, and camping available by reservation (call 208-365-2682). This is a well-maintained access point suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto the reservoir.

Black Canyon Reservoir spans 892 acres and offers calm, impounded water ideal for paddling, fishing, and recreational boating. The concrete ramp provides reliable access without the challenges found at other nearby launches. From this location, paddlers can explore the upper portions of the Payette River system, which flows from the central Idaho mountains and offers diverse water-based recreation.
