Black Sands Marina offers boat ramp access to CJ Strike Reservoir near Grand View, Idaho, a 26-mile-long impoundment of the Snake River. This is a popular launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring the main reservoir and surrounding Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. The site provides a developed marina facility with improved boat ramp access, making it suitable for launching various watercraft.
The reservoir is a relatively calm, flat-water destination ideal for recreational paddling and boating, particularly from spring through fall. The area is excellent for wildlife viewing, picnicking, and fishing. Multiple boat ramps are available around the reservoir if you're looking for alternative access points—including Cottonwood Campground to the north and several ramps accessing the Bruneau and Snake River arms of the reservoir. Note that Black Sands Resort may occasionally have temporary dock upgrades; during such periods, nearby Cottonwood Campground provides an alternative launch option.
