About This Access Site
The Blakely Dam boat ramp provides convenient access to the scenic Ouachita River and the expansive waters of Lake Ouachita. This concrete boat ramp is 30 feet wide with a gentle slope, making it suitable for launching a variety of watercraft, from kayaks and canoes to larger motorboats.

The ramp is situated in a day-use area that offers additional amenities, including a swim beach, reservable pavilion, and access to the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT). The LOViT is a 40-mile trail system that winds along the southern shore of the lake, offering opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and nature exploration.

Paddlers and boaters can take advantage of the clear, calm waters of the Ouachita River and Lake Ouachita for a range of recreational activities, such as fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. The lake is known for its excellent striped bass fishing, and guided fishing trips are available in the area. Nearby campgrounds, such as the Air National Guard Camp, provide additional accommodation options for those looking to extend their stay.
