Blowout Canyon

The Blowout boat ramp provides access to Palisades Reservoir, a scenic 25-square-mile impoundment on the Snake River in southeastern Idaho. Located below Blowout Campground at approximately 5,700 feet elevation, this ramp is the second-largest boating facility on the reservoir and is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp serves as a gateway to exploring the reservoir's approximately 70 miles of shoreline, framed by forested hillsides and dramatic mountain backdrops.

Blowout Campground offers 30 campsites ideal for visitors planning extended trips, with RV facilities located near the shoreline and ramp. The site includes restroom facilities and is conveniently located about 6.5 miles southeast of Palisades Dam via US 26. From Alpine, WY, the access point is approximately 12 miles northwest on US 26. The area is popular for a variety of water recreation activities, and the surrounding landscape provides ample opportunities for exploration of both the reservoir and the scenic Snake River drainage.
