About This Access Site
Blue Creek is a convenient access point on the Cowlitz River near Toledo, offering a spacious launch facility managed by Tacoma Power. The ramp features ample parking that can accommodate multiple boat trailers, four portable toilets, and a large gravel/grass staging area. Access to the river is straightforward once you reach the launch, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats heading onto the Cowlitz River.

**Access & Logistics:** The site is located off Spencer Road near the Cowlitz Trout Hatchery. From I-5 Exit 68, head east approximately 6.5 miles to Tucker Road, then turn right into the hatchery complex to reach the boat ramp. Note that the access road has rough sections, but the launch area itself is well-maintained. Overnight parking is permitted for up to 3 days followed by a mandatory 7-day absence.

The setting is peaceful, particularly in evening hours when wildlife like deer may be spotted. This location is popular with anglers and boaters but works well for paddlers launching kayaks and canoes onto the Cowlitz River for day trips.
