About This Access Site
Blue Heron is a first-come, first-served boat ramp facility on Lake Cascade in Valley County, offering reliable access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The site features a well-maintained boat ramp with two courtesy docks, a large parking area for trailers and vehicles, and two improved restrooms with flush toilets. A life jacket loaner station is also available at this location, making it a convenient option for paddlers without personal flotation equipment.

Located on the scenic reservoir formed by Cascade Dam, Blue Heron provides access to Lake Cascade's calm water conditions—ideal for recreational paddling and boating. The site sits on gently rolling terrain with a sandy beach area, and a few RV-friendly campsites are located near the parking area for those planning an extended visit. No reservations are needed; simply arrive early during peak season when the ramp can fill up quickly, especially on weekends.
