About This Access Site
Blue Licks Battlefield State Park offers a convenient boat ramp providing access to the Licking River near Piqua, Kentucky. This facility serves as an excellent take-out point for paddlers completing longer floats, particularly those finishing the approximately 15-mile journey from the Clay WMA boat ramp upstream. The ramp accommodates various watercraft, from kayaks and canoes to small jon boats with electric or outboard motors, making it versatile for different boaters and anglers.

The section of the Licking River near Blue Licks features mainly flat water conditions suitable for recreational paddling and fishing. If planning a full-day float from Clay WMA, paddlers should plan to launch by 9 a.m. or earlier to complete the trip comfortably before dark.
