About This Access Site
Located in downtown Stonington behind the Isle au Haut Boat Services buildings on Seabreeze Avenue, this public boat ramp (also known as the Colwell Boat Ramp) provides convenient access to the Deer Isle Thoroughfare and Eggemoggin Reach. The approximately 15-foot-wide ramp accommodates small to medium-sized watercraft and is suitable for trailered boats. This location serves as the nearest public launch for the area and is ideal for paddlers and boaters looking to explore the scenic waters of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding reaches.

The ramp offers excellent access to open-water paddling and motorboating in one of Maine's most picturesque coastal areas. Paddlers should be prepared for Atlantic Ocean conditions and tidal flows typical of this region. For those planning an extended outing, Duck Harbor Campground is available within 10 miles and offers reservable sites for overnight stays.
