Bolles Harbor provides convenient access to the western end of Lake Erie near Monroe, Michigan. This DNR facility features a 20-foot-wide concrete ramp with excellent infrastructure, including 16 launch and retrieve lanes and ample parking—making it well-suited for both kayakers and larger motorized vessels. The ramp itself is located in a small, protected bay, offering calmer conditions for launching compared to the open lake.
Paddlers and boaters should note this is a popular destination, particularly for those seeking access to Lake Erie's western basin. The proximity to Sterling State Park nearby provides additional amenities and recreation opportunities. The location at Bolles Harbor (accessed via LaPlaisance Road off I-75 Exit 11) makes it an accessible launch point for exploring the lake or paddling nearby water trails. While the site is primarily used by motorized boaters, kayakers and canoeists will find adequate facilities and protected water for launch and retrieval.
