Bottom Lake offers public boat access via a dedicated ramp located within the Peabody Wildlife Management Area near Drakesboro in Muhlenberg County. This 12-acre lake provides a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators looking to explore the area's waters. The ramp allows access to Bottom Lake as well as the downstream Pond River system, making it a good base for paddlers interested in exploring multiple water bodies.
The surrounding Peabody Wildlife Management Area is known for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, including bald eagles that hunt in the region and abundant waterfowl in the sloughs and wetlands. Anglers should note that the Pond River experiences a white bass run around early April. Parking is limited to designated parking areas and maintained roads—do not block gates or access roads. Be aware that firearms cannot be discharged within 100 yards of the boat ramp. For detailed maps and information about the 90 individual fishing waters across the Peabody property, visit the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife website.
