About This Access Site
Located in Brimley along Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay, this state park offers a paved boat ramp for paddlers and boaters looking to access the calm waters of this scenic bay. The ramp is situated in the day-use area of the 160-acre park, which has been a popular recreation destination since its establishment in 1923. Be aware that there is no courtesy pier or dock, and launch depths can be shallow, so check conditions before launching larger vessels.

The park serves as an excellent base for Lake Superior exploration and offers additional amenities including a sandy swimming beach, picnic areas, and nearby camping facilities with electric hookups and showers. The location provides convenient access to Whitefish Bay's protected waters, making it well-suited for kayaking and canoeing. The park is also positioned near the famous Soo Locks and the St. Marys River to the north, as well as other regional attractions like Tahquamenon Falls State Park and Mackinac Island, making it a good launching point for extended paddling trips or day outings on Lake Superior.
