Brown's Lake Wildlife Area

Brown's Lake in Salix offers a well-developed public access point with a boat ramp and fishing dock for paddlers and boaters. The 188-acre wildlife area provides good shoreline access throughout most of the lake's perimeter, making it suitable for kayaking and canoeing. Anglers will find the lake stocked with largemouth bass, northern pike, channel catfish, and cutthroat trout. The site includes picnic facilities, restrooms, and a shower house, making it convenient for day trips or longer outings.

A valid fishing license, hunting license, or State Wildlife Area (SWA) pass is required for all visitors 16 and older. Primitive camping is permitted around the lake, providing options for overnight trips. The area is popular with recreational boaters and water skiers, so paddlers should be aware of potential motorized traffic.
