Buckingham Landing (Highway 278 Bridge - West)

Buckingham Landing is a county boat ramp located on Mackay Creek just west of the Highway 278 bridge on Hilton Head Island. The facility features a single launching lane with parking for approximately 5–15 vehicles with trailers in a nearby dirt lot. The ramp provides direct access to Mackay Creek and Calibogue Sound, making it a convenient departure point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring the local waterways.

The area is known for good wildlife viewing opportunities, including frequent dolphin sightings along Mackay Creek. Paddlers should familiarize themselves with the channel before launching.
