About This Access Site
Buffalo Creek Reservoir offers a 1,500-acre impoundment on North Fork Buffalo Creek near Iowa Park, featuring a single boat ramp on the lake's west side. The facility, operated by the City of Iowa Park, is accessed via the Burnett Road exit from Highway 287. **Note:** Burnett Road may close after heavy rains, so contact the City of Iowa Park before visiting to confirm access conditions. The ramp area is located approximately one mile west of Iowa Park.

Paddlers and boaters should expect flooded terrestrial vegetation throughout the reservoir, with some submerged timber in the upper end and rocky shoreline near the dam on the east side. Brush piles installed along the dam face and rip-rap areas may attract anglers. At full capacity, the reservoir covers 1,500 acres with depths suitable for recreational boating and paddling. Free camping is available at the boat ramp area, making this a convenient spot for day trips or overnight outings.
