Bull Creek Park

Bull Creek Park offers a single-lane paved boat ramp on Lake J.B. Thomas, a large artificial reservoir along the Colorado River in Scurry County. The ramp provides parking for approximately 10 vehicles and is accessed via FM 1298—turn into the lake park area and follow signs to the launch. Note that water levels on this reservoir fluctuate seasonally, and the ramp may become unusable during low water periods, so check conditions before making the trip.

The site is designated for day use only, with no overnight camping permitted. There is no potable water available at the park, and the ramp does not have handicapped accessibility. This is a straightforward, no-frills access point suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboat users looking to launch onto the lake. Given the artificial reservoir setting, paddlers can expect calmer conditions compared to free-flowing river sections, making it accessible for various skill levels.
