**Location & Access**
Dock No. 1 is located off Route 78 on the West Side Recreation Area of Burr Oak State Park, providing convenient access to the 664-acre Burr Oak Lake near Glouster in Morgan County. The park is situated about 20 miles north of Athens via US 33 and OH 13, positioning it within an hour's drive of Hocking Hills State Park's scenic caves and cliffs.
**Boating Regulations & Amenities**
This is one of four launch ramps serving Burr Oak Lake, making it an accessible entry point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The lake operates under a 10 horsepower limit for boats; motors exceeding this must operate at idle speed without creating wake, and jet drive boats are prohibited. The park marina offers boat rentals (including kayaks and canoes), fuel, and seasonal dock rentals. The boating season typically runs from mid-April through October.
**Recreation Opportunities**
Beyond paddling, Burr Oak Lake supports fishing from boats and features a 500-square-foot sandy beach for swimming and other water activities. This makes Dock No. 1 an excellent launching point for a variety of water-based recreation in southeastern Ohio.
