Cadron Settlement Park provides an excellent boat launch for paddlers and small boaters on the Arkansas River. Situated along the eastern edge of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, this historic site offers scenic views and easy access to the water.
The Arkansas River is one of the largest tributaries of the Mississippi, flowing over 1,200 miles from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. At this location, the river has an average depth of around 50 meters and flows at a moderate pace of 6.6 feet per second. The total drop in elevation from source to mouth is over 9,500 feet, with an average gradient of 7.9 feet per mile.
The park features a concrete boat ramp, restrooms, picnic areas, and hiking trails.
