The Callicoon boat ramp, located on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River approximately half a mile downstream from Callicoon Bridge in Damascus, Wayne County, provides a convenient launch point for paddlers and non-motorized boaters. This small gravel ramp is exclusively for non-motorized craft—no motorized boats are permitted. The access area includes a dirt/gravel parking lot and a seasonal portable toilet (available Memorial Day through Labor Day). Please keep pets leashed while at the facility.
The Delaware River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow (averaging over 30,000 cubic feet per second) and a moderate gradient of 2.7 feet per mile, creating a mix of gentle pools and more lively sections. Paddlers can expect a dynamic river experience with varying water conditions, particularly after rainfall. This access point serves as an excellent entry point for exploring the scenic Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, where the landscape features steep valley walls and frequent shifts in scenery as the river winds through northeastern Pennsylvania.
