About This Access Site
Camp Branch Marina offers convenient public access to Smithville Lake, a 7,190-acre reservoir located within 30 minutes of Kansas City. The facility features multiple boat ramps, making it ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The marina also provides overnight covered boat slips and a full-service marina store stocked with rental boats (fishing and pontoon), life jackets, fuel, fishing tackle, and other boating supplies.

The access area is well-developed with amenities including a swimming beach, campground, walking trails, picnic sites, and nearby trapshooting facilities. Note that vehicles and boats require entrance passes to access certain areas of the lake including Little Platte, Crows Creek, and Sailboat Cove. Smithville Lake is known for excellent fishing opportunities, with over 4,000 acres of uncleared habitat and ongoing stocking by Missouri Department of Conservation. This is a family-friendly destination suitable for all skill levels and a wide variety of water activities.
