Campbell Lake is a 462-acre lake located 10 miles northwest of Bemidji in Beltrami County, easily accessed via County Roads 9 and 22. The DNR public water access on the south shore features a concrete boat ramp with parking for approximately 6 trucks and trailers, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. With a maximum depth of 25 feet, the lake offers decent water conditions for recreational paddling and fishing.
As part of the Turtle River Chain—a system of 11 connected lakes—Campbell Lake provides opportunities for extended paddling excursions, though navigation between all lakes in the chain is limited to smaller craft like canoes and kayaks. Paddlers should note that there is no dock at the access point, which may slow loading and unloading times. The concrete ramp provides good launching conditions for most water craft, and the modest parking area works well for smaller groups or single boats.
