The Canadian Lakes boat ramp in Mecosta County provides access to a popular chain of connected lakes ideal for paddlers and boaters of all types. The facility features a staffed ramp (weather dependent) with regular hours through mid-October on Fridays 1–7 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.–8 p.m. For access outside these times, you can arrange an appointment by calling Safety at 231-972-8555.
The lake system is divided into distinct zones: quieter "no wake" lakes north of Buchanan Road and south of Seven Mile Road are perfect for kayakers and canoeists seeking a peaceful paddling experience, while the all-sports lakes in the center of Canadian Lakes accommodate water skiing and tubing. This variety makes Canadian Lakes suitable for different skill levels and activity preferences. The area also offers tent camping (May through mid-October, $22–$80 per night) with reservations available up to six months in advance.
