About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** The Caney City Public Boat Ramp is located on Caney Creek near Malakoff in Henderson County. To reach it, take Texas 31 to Malakoff and turn north on FM 198, traveling about 3 miles until you cross Caney Creek. The ramp entrance is on the right side at the north end of the bridge.

**Facilities:** This is a well-developed access point with a two-lane paved boat ramp and parking for approximately 40 vehicles, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. The ramp provides access to the Cedar Creek Reservoir system. Note that this is a pack-in/pack-out recreation area with no trash service or potable water available on-site, so plan accordingly.

**What to Know:** The area serves as a gateway to paddling on Caney Creek and the broader Cedar Creek Reservoir. Given the reservoir setting, expect calmer water conditions compared to flowing creek sections upstream. This is a popular public access point, so arriving early on weekends is recommended if you prefer less crowded conditions.
