Canyon Lake 8, also known as Canyon Park, is a public boat ramp providing direct access to Canyon Lake on the Guadalupe River. Located on the north side of the lake approximately 10 miles west of Canyon City, this access point features a one-lane concrete ramp with parking for about 8 vehicles. To reach the ramp from FM 306, turn left at the blinking yellow light onto Potters Creek Road, then turn right at the park entrance.
This ramp is a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters looking to explore Canyon Lake, which offers a range of water activities including paddling, fishing, and water sports. The facility is non-reservable and operates as a day-use area. The relatively small parking capacity makes this a quieter alternative to busier ramps, though it may fill during peak times. Canyon Lake generally remains boatable year-round, though water levels can fluctuate seasonally, so checking current conditions before your visit is recommended.
