About This Access Site
The Cass Avenue Boat Launch in Bay City provides public access to the Saginaw River via a concrete ramp constructed in 2003. The ramp is 16 feet wide and well-maintained, located at the end of Cass Avenue. This developed launch site offers ample parking and is staffed to assist with vessel launches, making it a convenient starting point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters.

This access point serves as an excellent gateway to explore the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge and the lower Saginaw River system. Paddlers should note that the site has no on-site amenities, so plan accordingly with water, snacks, and supplies before launching. The Saginaw River in this area is a larger, lower-gradient river system suitable for recreational paddling and wildlife viewing.
