About This Access Site
Catfish Point Road provides public access to Lake Kickapoo, a 6,000-acre reservoir on the North Fork Little Wichita River in Archer County. This ramp is a practical launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the lake's expansive waters. The site is located near the northern portion of the lake, making it convenient for accessing the upper reservoir where catfish are most abundant.

Lake Kickapoo offers diverse recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, and water sports. The lake supports healthy populations of largemouth bass, white bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, and white crappie. Designated campsites and courtesy boat docks are available throughout the lake. For specific information about ramp conditions, parking, fees, or facility amenities at Catfish Point Road, contact the City of Wichita Falls Parks Department at (940) 761-7477. The Kickapoo Fishing Camp on the southeastern side offers additional services including RV sites and a fishing barge (fee required).
