About This Access Site
Cedar Lake in Pomona, Jackson County offers a boat ramp launch located at the end of Boat Dock Road (also accessible via Cedar Creek Road). This is an unresevered, public access point suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. The lake has a 10 horsepower motor limit, making it ideal for paddlers and smaller recreational vessels seeking a quieter water experience.

The surrounding area is part of the Clear Springs Wilderness region, characterized by scenic Mississippi River Valley views with terrain ranging from 400 to over 900 feet in elevation. Parking is available at the ramp. Note that there is no marina facility on Cedar Lake itself, though kayak rentals are available at the nearby City of Carbondale boat ramp with accessible kayak launch options. Fishing is popular here, with a 15-inch minimum size requirement for largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass.
