Chantier Creek Land Use Area

**Status and Access:** Chantier Creek boat ramp, located approximately 15 miles northwest of Oahe Dam off SD Highway 1806 in Stanley County, provides access to Lake Oahe. **Please note:** This ramp has been closed due to low water levels on Lake Oahe and remains unavailable until water levels rise sufficiently. Before planning a trip, contact South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) to confirm current conditions and ramp status.

**Requirements and Planning:** A park entrance license is required to access boat ramps at South Dakota state parks and recreation areas. Given the variable water conditions on Lake Oahe, paddlers and boaters should verify ramp availability before visiting. GFP actively manages multiple boat launch facilities along Lake Oahe and may bring additional low-water access points into service as conditions change. Contact local authorities for updates on alternative launch sites in the area if Chantier Creek remains inaccessible.
