The Lincoln Street Boating Access provides a convenient upstream launch point on the Cheboygan River, located just adjacent to the historic Cheboygan Lock and Dam facility. This site features a double concrete boat ramp with docks, making it an ideal staging area for paddlers exploring the river. The access is positioned as the last upstream launch before the locks when traveling downriver, and it's surrounded by a nice park area worth exploring.
Paddlers should be aware that this launch can experience congestion during periods of heavy boat traffic. From here, you can paddle upstream through the City of Cheboygan or downstream toward Lake Huron, though recreational boat traffic can be significant in both directions. If the dam area feels crowded, an alternative larger double concrete ramp facility is available at the mouth of the river on the west bank near Lake Huron, which offers more parking and may be less congested during peak usage times.
