The Cheboygan Municipal Marina offers a well-developed public boat launch on the Cheboygan River with two large concrete ramps suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The access area is compact (less than 50 yards) but professionally maintained, with ample amenities including modern bathrooms, water access, picnic areas, and a shelter. Parking is available on-site. The marina is conveniently located near downtown Cheboygan, with shopping and restaurants within walking distance.
This launch provides excellent gateway access for paddlers exploring multiple water routes: you can paddle upstream through the city of Cheboygan, or head downstream toward Lake Huron via the Inland Waterway. Note that the marina can become congested during peak boat usage times, so arriving early or considering alternative launch sites in the Cheboygan area may be advisable on busy days. Full-service docking and additional amenities are available throughout the region for extended trips.
