About This Access Site
Chippewa Campground provides convenient public access to the 2,714-acre Chequamegon Waters Flowage via a gravel boat ramp with a gravel turnaround loop and dedicated trailer parking. Located on the eastern shores of the flowage near Hughey, Wisconsin, this access point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters launching onto calm, expansive flatwater. The site is easily accessible from Medford via Highway 13 and County Road M, making it a practical choice for day-use paddlers.

While camping is available (78 campsites with 41 reservable through Recreation.gov), day-use access to the boat ramp is also permitted.
