**Location & Facilities:** Choctaw Beach Park is a Walton County-operated public access point on Choctawhatchee Bay near Freeport, featuring a single-lane concrete boat ramp on the northern side of the bay. The park includes non-floating courtesy docks, parking for approximately 20-25 vehicles, picnic pavilions, restrooms, and a small playground. This is a no-fee access point.
**What to Expect:** The ramp has a long, steep single-lane design and can become very shallow during low water levels, so check conditions before launching, especially during dry periods. The facility is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters accessing Choctawhatchee Bay, Grassy Cove, and connecting waterways. While the parking area is unimproved, the park's amenities make it a convenient spot for a full day of paddling or boating. Anglers also frequent the shoreline for fishing opportunities.
