Choestoa Park offers a six-lane boat ramp providing excellent access to Hartwell Lake and the Tugaloo River in Westminster. This well-developed facility is part of Tugaloo State Park and is designed to accommodate high-volume use, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and larger recreational boats. The ramp's multiple lanes and sturdy construction make launching and retrieval straightforward, even during busy periods or tournaments.
Hartwell Lake is one of the most popular Corps of Engineers lakes in the nation, offering expansive paddling opportunities with scenic Piedmont and Appalachian Mountain views. Note that a daily or annual ParkPass is required for all vehicles using the park's boat ramps and docks. Powerboats are permitted without horsepower restrictions, so paddlers should be prepared for mixed-use conditions. The area offers year-round recreation, with excellent fishing opportunities that often draw tournament activity to the ramp.
