About This Access Site
Located in Gladewater, approximately 20 miles west of Longview, City Park #1 offers a full-service boat ramp facility for paddlers and boaters accessing 481-acre Lake Gladewater. The park features a concrete boat ramp with a courtesy dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. To reach the ramp from US 80, take FM 2685 and follow signs to the lake. The facility is open year-round for a fee.

The park is well-equipped with amenities including restrooms, live bait facilities, boat gas, and picnic areas—ideal for a full day of recreation. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 30 feet and offers calm water conditions typical of an impounded reservoir (created in 1953). For current information about boat ramp permits, store hours, and conditions, contact the Lake Store at (903) 808-7667. Additional resources and water status updates are available through the TPWD District Fisheries Office in Marshall at (903) 938-1007.
