About This Access Site
Clark Lake is a 305-acre public water body in Crow Wing County with a maximum depth of 31 feet, offering a boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The access point is located in Merrifield near Lake Hubert, convenient to the Paul Bunyan Trail and within striking distance of other Mississippi River Headwaters recreation areas including Gull Lake and the Whitefish Chain. Most watercraft up to 12-18 feet can be launched at the ramp, and there are typically no launch fees unless the access is within a park requiring a vehicle permit.

Be aware that the east side ramp at the end of Clark Lake Court is shallow with limited parking. Users should also avoid using motors to power load onto trailers, as this creates ruts and ridges that can make launching and recovery more difficult for everyone. Consider checking Lake Finder for current access conditions before your visit.
