About This Access Site
Cleburne State Park offers a boat ramp for access to 116-acre Cedar Lake, located 10 miles southwest of Cleburne in Johnson County. The park is easily reached by taking Highway 67 south from Cleburne, then turning left on Park Road 21. This is an excellent option for kayakers and canoeists seeking a smaller, calmer water body, as the lake enforces a strict no-wake policy and prohibits water skiing and personal watercraft. Motorized boats are limited to 10 horsepower maximum.

Beyond paddling, the park provides ample amenities including an ADA-accessible covered fishing pier (no license required), shore fishing access, camping, and picnic areas. The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, and crappie, making it popular with anglers. If you plan to arrive after 5 p.m., call the park ahead of time at (817) 645-4215 for late arrival instructions. Cleburne, 10 miles away, offers supplies including ice, firewood, and groceries.
